Living Stones: 200 young people in Rome for the international meeting

Two hundred young people from all over Europe and even America came to Rome to experience together the “joy of forgiveness”, at the heart of the Jubilee, for the traditional Living Stones international formation camp.
On the first weekend of May, the experience began with a moment of adoration in the mausoleum of Saint Costanza and reconciliation in the meadows of Saint Agnes. It was a true pilgrimage, which then led the participants from the Basilica of Saint Peter to that of Saint Paul, walking along the banks of the Tiber, to pass through the Holy Door together. Among the martyrs of Santo Stefano Rotondo, it was recalled that service is indeed ‘martyria,’ because to speak of the temple means to bear witness to Christ.
Through moments of celebration and sharing, formation and prayer, the experience rekindled in all of us the awareness of being, like Peter and Paul, forgiven sinners, living stones for the building of the Church, because forgiveness is the stone on which it is founded.
On May 13, from 6:30 to 7.00 p.m. on Radio In Blue and from 7:30 to 8.00 p.m. on TV2000, an in-depth commentary will be broadcasted on the reality of Living Stones, a community of young people born in Frankfurt Cathedral in 2003 to proclaim Jesus Christ, the Beauty of the Church, to those visiting and appreciating the marvels of churches. Through welcoming, prayer and free guided tours, the “Living Stones”, hundreds of young people aged 18 to 35 from 40 different cities in Europe, America and some as far away as Istanbul, proclaim the Gospel as the “invisible in the visible” revealed through art. They help people experience the Christian sacred space as a place of encounter with God.
