“Making all things new” – Pietre Vive 2026 international meeting

This year, the international camp of Pietre Vive, a youth network rooted in Ignatian spirituality that proclaims the Gospel through art across many European and American communities, took place in Paris. Every year, over the May Day weekend, the group meets in a different city to spend time together in prayer, learning and friendship, based on an annual theme. This year’s theme was ‘making all things new’.
This concept, taken from the Book of Revelation, was explored through visits to iconic sites such as the Basilica of Saint-Denis, the birthplace of Gothic architecture, and Notre-Dame Cathedral, which was rebuilt after being destroyed in a fire. It was also explored during moments of reflection and sharing, and through numerous workshops. For example, the young participants were able to follow in the footsteps of Ignatius in Paris, exploring the stained-glass windows of the Sainte-Chapelle and the paintings of the Louvre. They also had the opportunity to meet LGBT+ believers and engage in a musical composition exercise. It is through experiences like this that the Church itself ‘becomes new’.
