A program for wounded couples
A program is being offered by the Jesuits in Catania addressed to couples who have experienced hurts in their relationship. This program helps them to rediscover the real face of God, reconciliation and forgiveness.
These are couples who have found a place of welcome in our parish,” Fr Narciso Sunda, parish priest at Crocifisso dei Miracoli explains. “We have welcomed these brothers and sisters to follow a program which then allows them to form a community”. The name of the group is in fact ‘Walking Together’. It is a one-year program with monthly meetings. Among the main themes offered are the rediscovery of the face of God, reconciliation, forgiveness, communication, and the ability to welcome each other with our differences. All this has its source in the texts of the Old and New Testaments.
“I was cohabitating,” Anna explains. “I, on the other hand, came from a bad separation, which exhausted me and my children. What we are now experiencing together with Anna in this parish is transforming our hurts into a means of service,” Carmelo explains.
“What the Lord has worked in our hearts we are giving back to those in need, and we are doing it together with our companions with whom we started the journey.” “Those who have already followed the journey share it with the new ones,” Fr Narciso explains. “I am there as a mediator of this gratitude of those who have already followed the journey and hope and desire of those who arrive”. “It is a place where all people can feel welcomed, listened to and not judged, they can feel forgiven by the mercy of the Lord because this is,” Anna recalls, “the greatest desire of everyone”.
