San Marcellino becomes home for a thousand homeless people

Founded in 1945 in Genoa, this work today mainly welcomes homeless people to help them start all over and become self-sufficient. Over 80 people are welcomed every day, a thousand in a year. Contact with these people is made through a street unit equipped with a minibus. After making contact, the first step is taking them to the day centre for a shower, clothing, and a medical check-up. In this way a journey to start all over and reintegrate into society is offered on a personal level.
