Covid clinic, a project in Chad from MAGIS

Inauguration of the Magis Covid clinic in Chad

The new Magis laboratory for Covid19 and Major Tropical Epidemics was inaugurated in Chad on December 12, 2020.

University Hospital Center the Good Samaritan in Walia now has a large tropical epidemics laboratory in Chad. The inauguration ceremony was held on December 12 presided over by the Director General of the Ministry of Public Health and National Solidarity, Dr. Ismael Barh Bachar.
The construction of the biomedical analysis laboratory is financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation as part of its active support to the efforts of the Chadian State and its partners to fight the Covid19 pandemic.
The Regional Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation Dr. Vincenzo Racalbuto noted that this important tool will be useful for the fight against Covid19 but also to ensure assistance to the most vulnerable in the capital during their medical care.
Looking forward, the lab will also be used for health monitoring of people with AIDS, Hepatitis B and C, papillomavirus. LAGET will progressively become part of a biomedical research and patient monitoring network. This laboratory will also serve as a training framework for medical biologists, laboratory technicians, and students from the Njamena Medical School.
